What is that Panel on your Wall?

I’m often asked about the panel in my treatment room and what it does. This panel is a Celluma LED and it does some marvelous things for your skin. Plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into plant tissue. Similarly, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) can trigger a bio-stimulatory effect on human tissue. Phototherapy can increase circulation, kill acne bacteria, and decrease inflammation. accelerate tissue repair, improve skin tone, texture, and clarity, as well as ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm, and arthritis. What’s not to like?

High-intensity light-emitting diodes (LEDs) utilizing specific, proven wavelengths of light can trigger a natural biostimulatory effect in human tissue. Light particles are absorbed by cells and are transformed into ATP, the energy source of the cell. Increased ATP means increased metabolic processes. So, more repair and replace, and restoration of homeostasis. This all means increased collagen and elastin production in the connective tissue.

So, what’s it like to receive treatment? Your skin will be prepped with the usual cleansing and exfoliation (if needed). The eyes are protected and the panel is wrapped around your head, as close to the skin as possible for the best result. Then it’s 30 minutes of relaxation for you. I find it very relaxing and often fall asleep and my clients say the same. When it’s done we can continue the facial with the usual steps. Or, you can come in for a series of LED treatments which will be a cleanse, LED, moisturizer and sunscreen.
